I thought you might find it helpful to learn more about the Free Strategy Sessions by answering some questions I get about them.

To start, some people ask "Why are you offering a Free Strategy Session? Just to sell me on your services, right?"

No, and yes.

No: I offer free strategy sessions we can evaluate each other. I’d be pretty concerned about anyone who just hit “buy” and paid without talking to me, first. I’m sure you’d feel the same about anyone wanting your services. You need to feel comfortable with what I can do for you, and I need to see ways that I can help you: because if I can’t see how I can help you, I won’t suggest we work together. (Yes, I’ve turned people down.) For me, this is more than a job. I want to feel passionate about your business. I want to see my clients succeed.

Yes: If at the end of our call, I think we could work together, I’ll tell you that, ask you if you feel the same, and lay out the next steps for working together. Is that a “sell”? I guess, officially, it is. However, I’m not here to convince you to do anything that you don’t want to do. The kind of relationship we need so we can work to build your business has to start with mutual respect and trust.

Others want to know "How would our session work?"

You can either send me an email to find a time, or you can go right to my calendar and schedule it (to which I’ll reply to confirm.) I find that a Skype or Zoom session works best so we can each get the most out of our communication. However, the phone is fine if you’d prefer, or the technology prohibits a video connection.

Maybe the most important question I get is "What do we discuss?"

It’s up to you. Once you reach out to me, I’ll send you a short questionnaire to focus our conversation. It will cover:

  • Why you think you could use help with your business
  • Any questions you have about a specific problem you face (like getting clients, for example)
  • The process if we were to work together.

The purpose of the questionnaire is so we can make the best use of our time. If you’re not sure what to talk about, but you just want to talk about your business, that’s fine, too. We can explore what you’re doing now and how you might improve for better sales, back office system, client interaction or something else.
